Damodar Kund tour is especially designed for the Hindu pilgrims around the world which is equally famous for the trekkers who starve for greater views of the dry region of Nepal. Damodar Kund is a small sacred lake situated in the high altitude of Upper Mustang region and not too far from holy Muktinath which is the major attraction for the Holy beings.
The Varaha Purana has written down the Damodar Kund’s religious significance in the book. Varaha Purana is a Sanskrit text from the Puranas genre of literature in Hinduism. It belongs to the Vaishnavism literature corpus praising Narayana (Lord Vishnu), but also includes chapters dedicated to praising on Shiva and Shakti. Major part of the famous Annapurna circuit trekking in Nepal, Kali Gandaki River has its source right in Damodar Kund and flows to the South. When Damodar Kund is regarded as the auspicious head of lying Lord Vishnu, Muktinath is believed as the mouth. As can be seen in the 2nd column of Varaha Purana, Lord Krishna has suggested whoever pays a visit to this Kunda and takes a bath, they will be free from all the sins. Hence, Damodar Kund has the ultimate significance in Hindu religion.
